kais24
Does anybody catch any cats this early? I've never fished them until the water warms up quite a bit. I'm usually fishing in the 'Croix by Stillwater. I've got the itch so bad I might have to get out and try. Worst case scenario...I get to float around in my boat for a while. hanson
Yeppers! We've been fishing channel cats for well over a month now on the Mississippi in the Minneapolis area. We gave the flatheads a shot on Thursday night with nothing to show. The Miss. is high and flowing fast. The spot was looking real good but I'm afraid the water temp has to rise a tad still to get the flatheads active. Hope you have some success! ikeslayer
i have fished Redwing dam for fat flatties a number of times however it has always been during summer heat. i am wondering if anyone has ever been out there this early? i know the Walleye guys are pounding it right now but for flatties is it any good. IF so do my tactics need to change. I usally go at night and fish live bait. Any changes or modifications being necissary for this time of year. thanks ike
Ralph Wiggum
Flatheads should just be beginning to become active right now. I believe that 50 degrees is the magical number where they start moving around.
