I have a '82 Lund Pro-Angler that the previous owner had cut out and removed the livewell. I have ordered a Tempress hatch and liner to install in the old location. My real question is plumbing. I have a pump to install on the transom, have the spray head, hose and the overflow fittings are still on the hull. How do I drain the livewell? There is an old wye fitting in the access hole in the floor that the valve is broke on. It looks like this wye let the water come from the transom to fill the livewell and then when the valve was swtiched it may have drained the water back out the bottom of the livewell to the wye then to the same hose through the transom. Am I correct? Will the water drain back out the pump? I cannot find a wye with a valve that will fit 3/4" hose except to use the kind for garden hoses and attach barb fittings to that.
I have also thought of adding another pump to the livewell to pump it back out, but that gets expensive and need to drill another hole in the hull or transom for that.
I know there a lot of knowledgable people out there, any ideas?
Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe. I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho. Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there. About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway. Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work. You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water. When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
