Whos all going to the crappie contest on lake Minnetanka, weigh in is at Lord Fletchers and a ticket only cost $5. With this early ice out the crappies should be in perfect spawn in a couple of weeks. This year is going to be another fun one I cant wait. What bays do people usualy fish, and do you fish shallow or deeper water to catch that monster crappie. whats your favorite crappie bait bigger lures or smaller lures to pull in that 2 pounder?

i will probably be entering for the first time. no boat so i'm looking to make the winner a shore fisherman for two years in a row. i think thats what happened last year.

The crappies won't be spawning in a couple of weeks. You do have a good point though as they should be putting on the feed bag as the water warms.
