Chub spawn?

Creek chubs start spawning in May, when the water temps hit 55 degrees. Hornyhead chubs spawn a bit later, with water temps around 6 degrees. However, both of these fish build nests in which they bury their eggs. They don't scatter them willy-nilly like trout and salmon do. The eggs are laid a few at a time into the nest by the female, and are then buried by the male, who guards the area. Hornyhead chub eggs are also sticky, so they adhere to the bottom. I don't know if creek chubs lay adhesive eggs, but they probably do. In any case, I'm not sure very many chub eggs find their way into the drift, but it might be worth a shot.
