Coon question?

What kind of calls do you use to call in Coons. I think i would be interesting to do in the river bottoms. Any info is greatly appreciated. But i was looking in the regs and noticed that the season closed in March? But i can wait until next year so info is still appreciated.

Yup, the season closed on March 15th.

Coons can be called anytime but respond best at night or during very low light periods.

Sounds to use include other coon sounds. Most folks use some kind of coon kit in distress but the sounds of adults fighting will generally bring them running too. This one was called in to within feet of me using an electronic call (Minaska Bandit) with coon fight sounds.

Hey shae, i got to try it this year a few times. had them come to the coon fight. came right out of the old barn that i knew they were in. took maybe 5 min. came out and ran towards me stopped, and stood on his hind feet, needless to say i was surprised and blew the shot, was 100 yds in the full moon, still. have to get together this fall and give ti a whirl.
