Ritz
I know gear ratio of 7 is best for Texas Rigging, 5 is best for fishing cranks, etc.... But in buying a reel for fishing spinners, t-rigs, carolina rigs, cranks, and jigging, what would you prefer???My guess is a gear ratio of 6, since it seems most all around..... However, the gear ratio of 7 is quite tempting as well..... ANy Opinions?
Deitz Dittrich
Ritz-It really is a personal pref thing. I too like the 6.2-1 gear ratios for most applications. I really only use a 5-1 on deep running cranks. A highspeed 7-1 would be nice ofr texas rigs like you say and carolina rigs...however for overall... get a nice 6.2-1 or so... also remember gear ratio is a little different from one company to another.. try to see what the line per handle turn is as well.
