Am I missing something here? I was just browsing the DNR site and came across this:

MINNESOTA-CANADA BORDER WATERS

- April 24 - May 7, July 1-Sept. 30, possession limit of one, 45-50 inches (inclusive) or greater than 75 inches

1. Are we going to be fishing "out of season"?

2. Does it matter?

If im not mistaken,we are fishing in the c&r season.I believe the other season which you have posted is for a possession season in which you need to buy the tag.

Ok, that makes sense. I also came across this, so I guess you can C&R any time of the year:

Anglers not intending to harvest a sturgeon may catch and release sturgeon with a valid Minnesota fishing license.

I don't think that you need to buy a tag. I belive you just sign and date your fishing liscense.
