Mounting 50 hp Yamaha

MWellner

Question

I would like to know if it is possible for me to save $300 if I mount the 2 stroke 50 hp Yamaha, not sure if it is a 05 or 04 model. I would mount it with the aid of some freinds at the local tow garage
(Southside Towing in Bemidji)
It weights about 189 lbs.
I am postive I can center it right.
Suggestions? Advice?
Thanks
Mike

If you have to drill new bolt holes and have any exposed wood I would recommend sealing the bolt holes (wood) with epoxy to prevent moisture damaging your transom.

Sealing the holes is very good advice. Don't just hang the engine on the transom, the cavitation plate should be in-line with the bottom of the hull.
Something else you'll need to do is install tilt and trim switch, hookup ignition wires mount and route the oil tank, steering cable and controls.

Heres what happened, I went to Corner Sports, which had helluva of a deal than Bemidji Marine. Saved myself some big bucks.
Ordered a new 2003 50 hp Yamaha 2 stroke which was at Rays Marine.

Thanks Through

They have free mounting.
