Where can a person find a Van Hook Arm Map?

Heading there this summer, and need a map.

Hard to find a good map of the Sakakawea, let alone the arm. The lake is so far down that a map from more than 3 years ago is almost worthless. They do have some maps at scheels in Bismarck which could give some general reference. I also know that there is a brand new map card for gps out for the lake (scheels has them), but have heard it is not very accurate on depths. When are you going? If its early I would check on the ramp situation before you go. If you haven't been there for a while you are going to puke when you see how far down the lake is. Oh well, less water for them to hide in I guess.

Thanks for the info. I plan on going on the 2nd or 3rd wk of July. I will be staying at the Parshall Rec. area. Have heard of low water, and suppose it's not coming up to fast.

The closer to the end of June/beginning of July that you can go, the better. If you are staying @ Parshall rec area make sure their ramp is good to go. It more than likely will be, but there is a outside chance it would not be. The corp/G&F does not manage that ramp, so they do not get federal/state funding to put that ramp in and if the water drops it is the resposiblity of the rec area to come up with the cash to put it in. It was good last year however, and they are forecasting water levels to be the same or a little better this summer so I imagine the ramp will be in. The fishing at that time should be awesome. I have been ice fishing van hook quite a bit this winter and if its a sign of summer fishing it should be a record year. Have had some awesome trips there this winter. Pulled a 29 1/2 incher and a 28 incher in the same trip in early Jan. along with a limit of 18 - 22 inch walleye between a group of 4 guys. Look for lindy rigs and jigs to be good at that time with either minnows, leeches or crawlers. Fish should still be pretty shallow, 5 - 15 feet. Good luck.

Navionics remapped the lake last year I am not sure if you can get this info yet but it would be worth checking into it.
