Question on March Crappies

Luck e 1

Recommended Posts

I am just getting into ice fishing later in the season now. What time of day is best to get out? What depth of water? I had luck later in the day earlier in the season, but I didn't know if things change. Is morning better than afternoon...afternoon better than evening...?

Thanks Guys

Low light periods are best but the crappies will bite all day long as they prepare to spawn. They will tend to move shallower but that move is very lake dependent. I would start out over the weeds and move out deeper until you find them. Check the fish info by species forum section. Crappie Tom, Matt and Corey have great posts there which explain it all.
