Tyler Holm
I recently skied Breckenridge and drove by Lake Dillion a few times. There were a few ice shacks out there and I was wondering what type of fish could be caught from that body of water. We are already planning a ski trip for next year. I'm seriously thinking about bringing my ice fishing gear had hitting the ice 1 day. I can only take so much sking before my body gives out. Please let me know what I might expect to catch from Lake Dillion in Feb, and also let me know if there are any other bodies of water near that might be worth trying. Thanks! Gissert
I've wondered the smae thing myself. I drive past is going elk hunting every year. IIRC, it was REALLY low a few years back.Gotta love that Breckenridge. I skied there about a decade ago and loved it. A-Basin kicked my rear - that was my first experience with altitude sickness. Jim Bob
Dillon has Rainbows, Browns, Kokanee Salmon, and some Artic Char that were stocked several years ago. In February your mainly going to catch Rainbows, the others seem to hit at other times of the year.Within an hour you have 3 other lakes. 11 Mile to the South, which has huge Trout, Northerns and Salmon. To the North is Green Mtn. and Wolford. Both have Trout and Salmon and Green Mtn. also has Lakers.
Gissert
Thanks! One of these years I'll have to take a few days in front of the elk season and do some fishing.
snowmaster113
I was told that alot of the small lakes up in the mtn. are fished out because the oxygen is thin the lakes lose there oxygen. But yeah I was out there jan.7-14 and had a blast at the ski resorts. I am planning on moving out there next winter I love it out there.
