Strikemaster Electra

CPL

Question

I'm thinking about getting a Strikemaster Electra and wonder if anybody has had much experience with them. With an 8" blade how many holes would you expect to cut on a fully charged battery (let's say through 20" of ice)? Also, how many years do you expect the battery to last before you need to replace? Finally, is it easy to change batteries (i.e. is it feasible to have two with you and swap out during the day)?

Thanks for the insight.

Scott

The manual on that unit says about 10 to 12 holes in 24" of ice on a fully charged battery. The battery is very easy to remove, and replace, so if you want to carry a spare, it would be simple. The battery cover on this year's model has large knobs to make battery change possible without tools.
