Wild Thing
Just got back from 5 days at LOW and the walleye fishing was ok. Not bad, not great, just okay. Smaller fish were easy but nice fish -- 17'' and up -- were hard to come by. Found fish in 12 feet off reefs in some places, and in 20 feet others. Go figure. Fished only in the afternoons, too cold for mornings! We didn't even try for crappies as the reports have been so slow. That should pick up any day now as March moves in. The snow machine conditions are absolutely perfect. There's about 20 inches of ice, 8 inches of hard snow and 10 inches of powder. The bays and islands were like floating on fluff. No slush anywhere that we found. Getting close to auger extender time because of the deep snow in some areas of the lake. Did manage to win 4th place at the Morson fishing derby for a 1 pound, five ounce walleye! Worth the $10 entry fee!! Good luck all.
