CrappieJohn
Pick up a Cabelas tackle Making catalog. Call'em and request one. In there you will find a few reference books for getting started in this. Just about every Gander Mountain has a fly fishing/fly tying department. Same with Thorne Brothers and Sportsmans Warehouses. The problem with internet teaching is the lack of good pictoral assistance. And the problem with pictures is that they are not hands on. The books though area good place to begin. Try doing a search at your public library. Check with local bait shops for any seminars that may be available. Casting jigs is spendy to get into, but if you and a couple guys split the costs and fish a lot, the savings are well worth the expense to get set up. Tying bucktails also cost some to get into it, but then too the savings are very good down the road. Spinners can be made using a round jawed needle-nosed pliers and a small side-cutter. The information is out there if you look for it.
