FA decoys

Did anyone get a chance to use these this fall? I bought some on sale a few weeks ago, thought I would give them a try. Paint seems better than GHG just by scratching and the feet are flexible without bolts. Thanks.

I took a dozen of these to Canada with me this past season. They are very nice looking and the paint seemed to hold up well after 4000 miles of highway and gravel roads. The only bad part on them is the neck fitting into the body of the decoy. They are always popping off and hard to get back on. I am going glue them on before next season starts.

Didn't mind the looks, but I agree with the previous post about the heads pain in the ____. My new GHG I like alot better because of the motion stands, can t wait to see the new Bigfoots look like.

Hey Snowgoose, where in Canada did you hunt? We hit Saskatchewan, but did not go last fall. Going this year for sure. I heard reports saying it was very wet up there. How did you do? BC

Big Country

I tried a new area this year. I was along the Alberta border North of Kindersley. We were driving anywhere from 100 miles to 300 miles a day looking for birds and scouting the new area. We made some new friends up there. Most of the crops had been cut but were laying in wind rows. Farmenrs were actually coming to ask us to hunt thier fields to keep the geese off of the crop. Man I love the people up there. I always say it is like going back in time. People still have trust in other people.

I would say we did alright for the first time to a new area. 4 of us took about 200 birds in 5 mornings of hunting. The Specks over that way are unbelievable. We could have filled on them every day. With a 5 bird daily and 10 total limit we ate Specks every night to keep hunting them. There were snows in the area but we did not have good weather for hunting them. We had very little wind and bright skys every day that we were there. We were there the last week of September into the first week of October.

I would like to go a little later in the season some time but that would interfear with my annual trip to Manitoba to hunt with relatives and friends there.
