1 vs. 2 transducers

Question

Just bought a boat that has a Lowrance 135 in the dash. I will be mounting an x-19 on the dash also. I don't think these units can be used at the same time. Should I mount transducers for both units or just one transducer with a switch to go from one unit to the other as needed?

I presume the reason you think they shouldn't be used at the same time is because they operate at the same frequency?

As far as the switch vs mounting another transducer goes, that's kind of a personal preference decision... are you sure they can use the same transducer? If so, and it were me I'd mount the other transducer as long as I were using a transducer board... that way when I wanted to use the other locator I'd just have to turn it on and not monkey with a switch... but that's me...

What features are there in the 135 that aren't on the X-19? Are you going to be using both of them, or would you likely end up only using one or the other? If that's the case then it's pretty clear what the answer is...
