I'll be up there this summer camping, Where would be a good place to start fishing for trout, and what should a guy use, I'v never used a fly rod before, nor has the old lady. Any help would be great, any type of trout would be ok.

Thanks.. Getrdone..

Stewart,

check the MN DNR HSOforum, they have an entire page for every trout lake in MN. You will be able to locate lakes close to your area of choice. Depending on which type of trout your going after and what time of the summer your going, your tackle selections will vary a tad. I assume you means of transportaion is a canoe? If so the best luck I've had is trolling small spoons, stickbaits, etc. Casting spoons will also work if your limited to shore. Keep in mind you average trout is around a pound or so, so no need for anything too big. I personaly only troll/cast for trout, some others on here might offer some more ideas to landing a few.

P.S. were you a Gopher or a Falcon??
