'homemade' uw video cam??

I have a question - why dont people use those little portable DVD player screens instead of lugging around a small television set?

Would this work? My portable DVD player has a AV input & runs for 3.5hrs.

looking for input, I've never really looked at a camera before.

I guess you'd need to power the camera somehow also....? since they are lighted. Could you just hook it to your Vex battery?

When I made my homemade fish camera the 12V black& white TVs were 40$ and the small portable DVD players were just coming out and were still about 150$. With DVD players now selling for less than 50$ I've been thinking it might be time for an upgrade. One thing that could be a problem is the type of video signal the DVD player accepts and what type the camera puts out.
