Down Deep
I just got back from Crow Lake, etc. Ice conditions were good. We found 8 to 12 inches on Crow, Camron and Otterskin. There was some slush, but it didn't cause any problems. Just be aware of where you stop. Ice on Otterskin was good, but there was an open spot at a pinch point between an island and the shrorline. LOW had 12 inches plus, same slush conditons as the other lakes. The portage from Camron to Otterskin was clogged with deadfalls. We tried to open it up, but there were too many trees down. We had to ride the roads on the south end to get into it. The trout bite was slower than usual, but consitant. The standard white tubes worked very well. I also caught a few useing a medium shocking pink airplane. The bite on LOW was slow and the fish were small. The temps were perfect. 20F the whole time
