GoodToGo
If anyone runs up Pipestone this weekend I'd appreciate a condition report. My group is headed up there next weekend. I'd imagine there is quite a bit of open water in the narrows.
GunDr
If you're talking about the Pipestone/Clearwater area north of Emo, it's gettimg slushy. A friend of mine has a house on Clearwater and we need to hand pump lake water in the winter. 2days after drilling only one hole, which stayed open, flooded the whole area. this was last week Wednesday through this last Monday. We generally do fish trout on Pipestone, but ended up fishing crappies, northerns, and perch on the surrounding smaller lakes. Most of the crappies were in the 14-16" range. Some perch up tp 13".Word was the going was tough going up Pipestone. A few locals were slipping into Slender, but it was watering up pretty quick.Going again near the end of Feb.GunDr
uffdapete
A coworker was up to Pipestone 2 weeks ago and didn't mention any major problems with slush. Most of the trout lakes have some slush this year - not as much as last year but also the ice isn't generally as thick as last year either. We did have a good week of cooler weather this past week so we're at least going in the right direction.
