I was wondering what is the function of a trim tab (The little metal colored fin looking piece right above the prop on the lower unit)? I was told that it only effects slow speed operation so your boat trolls straighter, is this true or does it have any high speed effect on the motor.
I have a 90 hp tiller that can be a hand full and looking at options to lessen the torque steer of the prop. The motor is not too much trouble when it's calm but can be a hand full in big chop.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
