Crazy weather, crazy turkeys

On Thursday I was coming back home from fishing and took the scenic route. So what do I get treated to but a group of 11 male turkeys, all with full beards, all fanned out and strutting two hens. Of course the hens were having nothing to do with the boys, but it was a treat to see who could look the largest, chase the fastest, and impress the most. I suppose this unusually warm weather has them thinking of things to come and got into a dress rehearsal.

I always see that during the first warm spell in March. The birds have more than a month or so to go, but that doesn't stop the toms.

Speaking of dress rehearsal, I took out the camo and calls the other day, just to drive myself more insane. Have to get more into late-ice fishing (if there will be any to be had this year), to keep my mind off the turkey deal for one more month.
