Cenaiko Update

Anyone thinking of scratching the "winter opener itch" at Cenaiko tomorrow should make alternate plans. I just spoke to Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park personnel and the lake is closed to fishing "until further notice" due to the poor ice. Figures. Lived in Anoka County all my life, started fishing open water (streams) for trout 3 years ago, and now the first time I plan on trying this lake through the ice it's closed!

Thanks for the update on the ice conditions, and sorry to hear about that, this weather has been crazy. You might not be able to get out now, but I think we've still got a healthy dose of winter in store for us.

keep yourself updated and maybe you'll be the only one out there...I kinda figure that w/ this ice it will open late and when it does is going to be anyones guess...I think because of this you'll actually see less people out there when it does open...I was on cenaiko 2yrs ago for opener and it was a madhouse...100+ houses and who nows how many guys fishing...
