My family and I are looking for a good lake to go for the week. we are open to any kind of accomidations(resort,house,etc..) probably looking for a good panfish lake, due to the fact that we will be going in the middle of the summer and walleyes are not easy to catch at this time. any MN or WI lakes will work. Thanks

I second Clam Shell. It's a smaller lake but holds good amounts of pan fish and has more then enough good size largemouth to keep you busy if you're interested. At times the northern will get your heart pumping as well.

It also has access to Whitefish if you're interested in trying for the eyes. Hammer Point is good for eyes as well as the shore line drop to the left of Hammer. From Whitefish you can get into Trout Lake. There is also a little inlet to another couple of small lakes across from Hammer point to the West that holds panfish and bass.

Lots of stuff to do in this area besides fish if you have kids along. There is a water park, go-karts, water tubes, etc:. You can also reach a couple of different restaurants via your boat if you want.

When my kids were younger we use to go there every year and had "kids day" once a week where they got to choose what we did.

It was usually fishing in the morning till 11, then we'd hit the water park and all that, then maybe a movie and then head to one of the restaurants. They thought it was really cool to go to a restaurant via boat.
