skid vs drop-down

I'm planning to build a new fish house. There is a roll in dock company in Detoit Lakes that builds an aluminum framed shell. The other option is for a drop down trailer(7x14) from Northern Tool. Does anyone have any experience with the aluminum frame. Which do you think would be easier to move around a lake during the year. I will not "lake hop" with it. I have a 4x4 wheeler and a snowmobile to move the house. All opinions are welcome, Thanks guys

I have an aluminum frame house with a steel trailer. I would recommend getting the trailer and not use skis. I have had to move it in the summer and it is much easier. Also, just getting off the ice can sometimes be a chore. You never know what is to come over the next years. There are several types of trailers for Ice Shacks; you should be able to find one that suits your needs. grin.gif

Drop wheel house will move way easier than a skid house any day. Its just a simple matter of resistance.

When you get deep snow, they will both be a bugger to move but the wheel house has the advantage once again in my opinion.
