X18c Arc Problems

Just wondering if anyone knows what the deal is. I bought an X18c and I am having problems with the graph reading arcs. It will read the fish symbols but not the arcs. If you know anything please help me. Any help would be great, THANKS

your not going to get true archs like in the demo mode..unless the fish go all the way through the cone..most fish will be only 1/2 archs as they only pass through your cone momentarly unless you are still fishing and they are right under your boat..you also need to put unit in manual not auto and turn the sensitivity up all the way you will have surface clutter but with the color graph you should be able to pick up the fish inside the clutter they will be brighter color then the clutter which is usually black.hope this helps out....

try going to "Sonar Features" on your menu, highlight "Fish Symbols" and you should be able to turn them off. Experiment with sensitivity and speed to get good archs.
