LX3 Battery operation

do ya'll unhook the leads from the battery when not in use? Mine is brand new and after charging it to 100% I left the leads on over night and after about 20 minutes on the ice i was at 50%. I didn't check before I turned it on but was curious why i had to turn the gain up so high. I left it charge overnight and while I was at work to make sure I wasn't getting a false 100% but am currently storing it with the leads on and the charge indicator on.

you won't get the proper battery reading witht he unit running..cuurent flow will cause voltage drop,and the indicator will see that as a depleated battery..when it goes down during use,turn it off for a bit and the indicator should give you a true reading..
