Hunted sw of Sauk Centre on Sat, howling winds not needed but the pheasants didn't seem to mind. First thing in the morning a WMA jumped 8 birds (3 rosters& 5 hens). Got one roster, missed one (should have gotten) and the dog got too far afield and got the last roster up about 70 yds away. Fair amount of other hunters in area, after I left first field had a harder time finding places which did not already have hunters. Broke thru some ice in a ditch and strained a knee and had to degenerate to road hunting the rest of the day. Fun anyway, birds held fairly tight and the dog did well except for the one stray roster he chased up.
