Fried a battery and charger...FYI guys

I went to pull my LX-5 and OVS-500 off the chargers this morning and the flasher was only at 20% and the camera wouldn't even power up. I dropped in an old battery and the camera still worked...whew, that was a relief. I figured out I had reversed the plugs and apparently the polarity in the plugs is reversed. Why would they do that?

Anyways it not only fried the battery in my camera it fried the charger for my new only used once LX-5. The LX-5 battery seems to be taking a charge, but I hope it's OK. I definitely have to label all the chords for my chargers.

If the plugs where wrong from start I'd say that would be a warrenty issue. Does the LX5 work with the spare battery?

Metro Joe: I saw in the Sunday ads for Fleet Farm they have a battery and charger for $12.95.. I bought one last week there and paid $16.95.. Todays sale is quite a bargain, I think I'll have to get another for a spare.... They work great for the portable light systems too...

Bring your receipt and they will refund you the difference if the sale is within a few weeks of purchase.

It never hurts to have a spare!
