ifishsd
Long lake south of Madison the Ice is still very thin in spots. One hole had 5 inches of ice and 3 feet to the south all it took was one wack with the spud bar and I was thru the ice !!! Ice is very soft. A couple wacks with the spud bar and water would soak thru the ice. I did try fishing. I was only in 4 feet of water about 30 feet from shore. I caught one 12 inch perch right away. I got a 8 inch perch about 45 minutes later. Only fished for 1 1/2 hours. Didn't want to roam around looking for the perch with the ice being the way it was. I checked the ice on Walker's bay on Madison. About 3 to 5 inches of ice. No one fishing. I drove by Diamond and Island lake on the way home. Nobody fishing either one. A couple shacks on Beaver lake. Talk to a couple of young guys at Beaver lake. They said they had some bites. Also went by Scott lake. One shack out there.
