FishPiCkLeS
A fresh blanket of snow had me reading every post I could today. I think I have THAT fever they talk about when the first ice appears. I have been looking for a new/used buy/sell forum and havent found anything recent. I'm lookin' for something to carry buckets on my 700 Sportsman this year. I'm tired of the bungee cord setup that hardly works. I see alot of composite stuff out there for ALOT of money. Does anyone fabricate their own stuff? Ideas? Thanks, Pickle
walterman
Get a half or quarter in. piece of plywood and trace out the holes of the bucket and fabricate mounts to the fourwheelers needs...works great, cheap, and easy!
panski master
I got some of those plastic milk crates and made brackets and mounted them on my honda rancher. I can get three on the front and three on the back. I only have them on the front so I can mount my auger on the rear. They work great cuz you can fit buckets, electronics, and even 20 lb lp tanks if needed. they are light weight, strong enough and they are easy to take off.Keith Kowalczyk
FishPiCkLeS
I could almost use my old stand by bungee cords to hold them on too.. = ) I might try that. Thanks both for the ideas.
FishPiCkLeS
I guess when I started this post, I was actually trying to talk about 2 things. I have an older Strikemaster Mag 2000. I want to put a new Strikemaster shaft on it. I was wondering if they are pretty much all the same shaft sizes? I put a bid on a shaft on hsolist. I guess I may find out the hard way if they are the same size... The other thing I am looking for is a house that mounts to my 4-wheeler. I see a few advertised around the net. I wonder if anyone has one they liked or didnt like. Pickle
Cottco
I put the lasermag on a 15 year Mag III head - shaft is actually a bit smaller than my old auger flighting - so you may have to buy a longer set screw or weld-in a machinery bushing to make up the difference. I settled for a longer set screw and have been happy with the modification - a dream for re-opening fish house holes. You shouldn't be disappointed. fishercat
Those milk crates work great!I have 3 zippy tried together that I mount on the front of my Arctic Cat 500 w/ bungies. That will hold 2 buckets, 1 w/ the Vexlar the other with my tackle bag and other misc.stuff and one crate holds my 5lbs. propane tank and Mr.Heater.I put my rod set-ups in a $10.00 gun case from Bass Pro Shops bungied to the back w/ my Nils power auger on my gun rack ! Hook the Fish Trap to the back and I'm good to go !!!
