Where to put LP lines??

Have seen them outside the house, in the wall,inside house but exposed, and inside but covered with trim, will be using soft copper and am thinking of putting the line in the wall with any connection accessable, is 1/2 okay size for a heater and a couple of lights in a 16' house?
