CPL
I'm looking for some advice. My kids are really excited about ice fishing this year (good thing!) and I'm looking to get a shelter that will fit all of us (10 year old, 7, 3, and sometimes the wife as well). I've looked at some of the three person sleds but they won't fit in the back of my Suburban (without taking out the middle seat). I've also been looking at the Clam 1060. I know it won't be nearly as mobile but seems to offer a great deal of space. Since it's unlikely that I will be highly mobile with the gang along anyway, I'm willing to sacrifice that (I do the mobile fishing by myself or with a partner). Has anybody had any experience with the 1060 (good or bad?); I know they've been around for a few years now, but I don't recall ever seeing one out on the lakes.I look forward to your guidance and advice.Scott
chaffmj
I had one and really liked the size the only thing I didn't like about it was that you set the frame up and pulled the canvas over it.
lobi
CPL, I purched a 1060 last year and I love it. It is less mobile, but I have gotten to the point where I can set it up in five minutes. The main reason that I went with it is because most of my friends, where I live now, do not ice fish much. It gives four or more people a lot of options if the fishing is slow and if the weather is nice it works well as a "warming shack" for those that are not as tolerant to the cold.Lobi
