Question from a Minnesota visitor

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I get to New York fairly often, particularly Westchester County. There are some beautiful lakes there; they look like amazing fishing waters. But I've never seen anybody on them. Rye Lake & the Muscoot Resevoir are always boat-free when I pass them. Lakes like that near a metro area here in Minnesota would almost always host a number of boat with eager anglers on board. Even on weekdays. I'm just curious. Thanks.

Wish2Fish - Westchester County is in Region 3 and the contact info I provided below...

Region 3 Sullivan, Ulster, Orange, Dutchess, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties; phone- (845) 256-3161

Rye I did not see any special regulations for but I believe that Muscoot Reservoir requires a special boat permit..

I'll see what else I can find for you...
