will i go in to the woods Too Late

I have been used to being out on a stand or whatever about an hour before sunrise at least on the previous years and have harvested all my deer before 9A.M. on public land up near Mille lacs area.

this year im working until 8 a.m and have to shower get everything loaded and drive what is it lets say hour and half two hours so i leave at 9 a.m. so lets say i arrive at 11 a.m. is this too late. im kind of worried .

Im also thinking maybe of just going out to the Henderson area on opening day so i dont have to drive all the way up there but i dont know how productive it is near that area i kind of have an idea of a spot i would like to go to but dont know and havent had a chance to scout since i have been working som mad hours. i guess going out is better than not going out at all.

anyone have any reports or has hunted near Henderson Mn anyone give me some direction or pointers would be appreciated

I wouldn't worry about getting out there too late. They say most of the bigger bucks get taken in the afternoon when everyone goes in for lunch because they push them. I would say get it in your stand and sit for the rest of the day. You aren't going to get one sitting inside.

I wouldnt worry about being out there in the middle of the day either. The deer get pushed pretty hard on opener and will move at any time, day or night... you just never know.

I would be out there sitting in the stand when I can.

you guys are right plus public land there is no time to rest for those deer. Until i put them to rest. plus ill be doing my part in moving deer for other people when i get there i guess ILL BE PITCHING IN. thanks guys
