Trolling Motor Size

I have a 14 foot aluminium v-hull boat with a 9.9 outboard. I want to get a trolling motor, but need to know how many pounds of thrust is enough. Is 30 lbs of thrust enough to keep me on course in the Mississippi?? Any ideas would be great!!

I would go at least 45. I have 36 and wish I had more power at times. Especially in current. If you can afford it go 55.
