Lantern question??

Just was wondering if anyone has ever used a battery operated or rechargeable lantern to use on a blood trail in the dark. I have had success with a propane fueled lantern with a real flame, however was wondering what the light would be like with a battery source? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have used a battery powered lantern with success about the same as a propane lantern.What will help a propane lantern is to wrap a piece of tin foil half way around the lantern and it will reflect more light to the front.I have also tracked deer with a L.E.D. light with a blue cover which works pretty good.Given the better for me it would be the flashlight with the blue cover or the lantern with the tin foil.
