2 dog remote trainer.

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a solid two dog remoter trainer. I don't have my mind set on a specific brand yet and I don't need all the bells and whistles (beebers). Let me know what your opinions are on some good units for the price or where you can find good deals (I've been checking HSOList).

Thanks for the help!

I've used a Dogtra 1202 (w/o the pager) for the last 2 years and I really like the unit. It has a toggle right above the nick and continuous buttons to switch between dogs. I've used it in the coldest and wettest from upland to water and it's worked flawessly. The batteries seem to last forever, I've gone 3 days of all day hunting without a recharge. You'll hear pros and cons of the continous vs set levels. Some say the continous dial can be bumped and changed but I've never had this problem. I had a Tritronics single dog previously and it worked just fine too. The trainer I sent my dogs to recommended the Dogtra as more durable and got me the unit for his "wholesale" price. If I remember right, he saved me about $80-$100. The only improvement I'd make is to color code the toggle switch so it's easier to tell which color collar is active. I used some red nail polish to mark the orange from the black setting.

I have two Sportdog Field Trainer 400's. I really like them a lot. They have a 400 yard range. The collars and remotes are programable. The remote can be programmed to run up to 3 collars. When using the collar on a single dog it has Constant, Nick and Beep with 8 levels of stimulation. The remote is compact. Both the remote and collar are waterproof and rechargable (comes with charger). Lifetime Warranty. The price is very reasonable - $145. Add-a-collars can be bought for a little less than $100.
