Windy City Walleye Hunter
Hi Guys,Sorry I could not share this with you earlier, but I was sworn to secrecy by my friend who happens to work with the Chicago White Sox. He was in Ozzie's office getting some paper work together while Ozzie was out in the field supervising the team and he came across a memo on Ozzie's desk. It was from MLB and they told Ozzie that the White Sox were costing the league huge amounts of money by blowing out the Red Sox so quickly in game one. They ordered Ozzie to let the Red Sox score at least three runs before turning the dogs loose and he was not allowed to score any runs before the 4th inning. They also asked Ozzie not to exceed the Red Sox runs by more than 1 but this was not an order, just a suggestion. They felt that this would increase viewers in the later innings. Do you think it worked. I wonder how many people were watching the game outside of Chicago and Boston. I look forward to the next memo as the league trys to infuse this series with some interest since the White Sox are the lowest ranked team left playing. Seems that all the national media will be doing the ole soft shoe shuffle tonight, starting with Harold Reynolds, Peter Gammons and all the boys at the Eastern Seaboard Programming Network.YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES! CNY Tim
ESPN sucks... To much basketball, Barry Bonds and too much Yankees/Redsox! Windy I'm glad you brought that up... Tony LaRussa had them pegged long ago.."Eastern Sports Network"... I'm just stuck here in NY and have to suck on this station, it's terrible. I wonder if FSN (Midwest) is all Cardinals all the time. It sucks to be 1 of 5 people in all of Rome, NY that's a Cardinal fan...We hope to join you Windy at 2-0 tonight. Congratulations on a great comeback win. If this game never teaches you anything but one thing, it's unpredictable. Just ask Tony Gaffernino poor kid in slow mo looked like a flash back of Bill Buckner. Way to go Windy! Enjoy your day off! Willy
Windy, for once I will agree with you. It's probably just driving ESPN nuts that a midwest team is sticking it to their beloved Red Sox. Kinda like when the Twins were in the playoffs the first year and the announcers were laughing at us because they didn't know any of our players. It's hard for me to cheer for either team in that series. I hate the East coast "big money" teams, but the White Sox aren't my favorite either. Actually, they wouldn't be that bad if we didn't have to listen to you brag all the time.
