Ruger .22 Bear Cat

The Chemist

Question

This afternnon while taking apart a dining room table that was in a house that we are fully refinishing this gun fell out and on to the floor. It's in near perfect condition as it probably hasn't been used but a couple of times and according to my checking of the serial # it dates back to 1966. If there is anyone that knows something about guns and can help me figure out a true value on it. Someone offered my dad $200 but I tend to believe he is seriously underbidding to hose my dad.

My e-mail is [email protected].

Thanks

does it have 2 or 3 screws on the right side
after the grip?? if it has 3 it was the early production (ruger stopped producing these bearcats for some length of time), then started reproducing them again in about 1993 with 2 cylinders (1-lr/1-mag) but recalled the mag cylinder and the 2 screw set up (3-screw had the possability of accidental discharge caused by a blow to the hammer if dropped)
i have 2 of the early 3 screw (inherented so no value) and 1 of the 2 screw that i bought new in 94 and paid about $225.
hope this helps
