Replacement padded seating

carlcmc

Question

My pontoon boat has bench seating across the back. Its divided into two individual seats the flip up to reveal compartment underneath. Through a story I'd rather not get into (involving driving on the interstate and high winds) I need a replacement seat portion that I could screw/bolt on. The frame and back padded support still remain. Any suggestions?

If it were me I'd likely go to a Auto Upolstery/Trim shop. They usually do marine stuff as well. If you're a bit handy with a saw, buy some marine grade plywood and cut out the shape you need for it/them - it may save a couple bucks and you'll KNOW you're got good marine grade wood. Use stainless fasteners when you put it back together or ask that the shop do so (they will probably want the 'toon to see the other cushions).

Call a couple of the local boat shops and ask them where they send their stuff and you'll be headed in the right direction.

If it's fairly new you may be able to contact the Mfg and see if they will sell you a replacement, but suspect the trim shop would be cheaper.

Good luck
