Should I refrain from using any of the superlines(fireline,powerpro, even flourocarbon) on these rods?Any concern with older reels?(Abu Garcia cardinals)------------------SERIOUSLY! It was THIS big! 0 rodsbyengel Posted March 12, 2004 Share Posted March 12, 2004 The only problem you should have will be with guide wear. Guide ring material has evolved right along with line makeup. If you check guides periodically by running a q-tip around the inside of the guide ring it will tell you if you are "grooving" your guides. Depending on useage you might get by a long time.
