Tyler Holm
Typically doves remain treed during times of rain showers. You can usually find them in a leafy tree taking cover from the elements. They roam about in a sprinkle, but I’ve rarely seen them during a good rain. Does anybody have any good reports/stories of success with this bird in the rain? Certainly they have to feed sometime during the day even if it rains all day. If it flies, it’s huntable! Tyler Holm
The reason I posted this is because it was raining and I was going dove hunting soon. When we got to the field, it had recently stopped raining. The ground was wet and muddy, but the sun was starting to shine. I'm not sure how things would have turned out if it continued to rain, but you can view our results at this link: Downed Doves near Rochester
