Strikemaster 224

I'm wondering if some of the guys who have run the 224 auger could give me their opinions on it's performance in comparison to the ultra or lazer mag express.

I currently have the express (10") and am highly satisified. Like most everybody, I'm always looking for an upgrade and was hoping a few people to shed light on this.

I have the 8 inch 224. New last season. With good blades it is very fast. It performed outstanding for me. By the end of the year I was needing a new set of blades, but I drilled 350-400 hole easily last year. Starting is very easy, but I am not a big fan of having to push the compression switch for each pull.

And those blades are not cheap !!!!

I have the laser express 2 blade syle and those blades will last much longer.

That is also fast enough for me.

I like my 224. I didn't get to use it much last year but, I plan to this year. I have to agree that the compression button is kind of a pain.
