sibling caught his first musky

Recommended Posts

My folks are in the process of adopting a 6 yr old that they had since he was 4 months old ( he was born 2 months premature so he looks small for his age.) and my dad has got really attached to him. He is his fishing buddy. Just like me when I was his age but only ( Birdy ) who is 6 yr old caught his first musky. Yeah I was pretty impressed. He was with dad and one other guy last weekend here on lake of the woods. Dad put on a top-raider for him so he wouldnt get caught in the weeds. He could only cast half way to shore if that when Birdy shouted " Dad I got one!". Dad seen the swirl and knew he had a nice one on. He held the rod tip for him with one hand and Birdy did the rest. The musky measured 45 inches which is 3 inches longer than Birdy is tall. He was using a walleye rod so it wasnt so heavy for him to cast it. So far he has a 28 inch walleye and 10 lb laker to his credit. I want to post a picture but I havent figured out how to do that yet. I guess you aint never too young to start. Happy fishing! Brian

Email me the picture and I will post it for you. Make sure to include The young fellers stats, it sounds like it was a lbs for lbs battle between him and the fish. I love to hear a story like that, he may be the next Musky golden boy!

I proudly present Bluebird Stickens or better known in the fishing community as "Birdy". As you can see he is already an accomplished Musky angler boating a 45" musky. He is also into the walleye scene, and as you can tell by the photo's he has what it takes to make it onto the news print. Congrats Birdy on some nice fish.
