Fishing Door County

My wife and I are heading up to Door County for a Romantic Get-A-Way around the 18 of August. This will be our first time up there! My gal said, "we might as well go fishing while we are there!"

So I need some assistance! Do I go smallie or salmon fishing? And does anybody have any recommendations for guides and places to stay! I do a lot of fishing throughout the summer from muskies to walleyes, to bass.

Any help would be appreciated!

I was over to Algoma last weekend salmon fishing. There was a really good morning bite from 4-5:30a.m. and again in the evening from about8-9:30. The fishing in the afternoon hours was typically pretty slow from what I gathered from the radio chatter. I know they run boats out of sturgeon bay and there is all kinds of info at the various resorts and inns. Hope this helps.
