Now thats some tough line!

Three times so far this year I've snagged up hard and managed to get my lures back. All three times I've straightened out hooks - one on a bucktail, one on a Shallow Raider, and last night on a J-mac jig. The latter two especially impressed me because they are sturdy hooks to say the least. Once had 100lb Stealth and twice with 80lb Stren SB - pretty amzing stuff.

Cooter,

I have been using stealth for a long time now and have never had any trouble at all.The thing I don't like about it is that it turns everything green, reels, guides, fingers. I have also heard other good comments about the stren line but I have never tried it or even looked at it, what type of line is it? Super braid, coated super braid, micro braid? What is it's claim to fame?

The stren super braid is coated. I've used both the small stuff (20lb with 6lb dia.) and the big stuff (80lb and 20lb dia.?). Its the best braid I've used thus far and I've fished lots with both Power Pro and Stealth - although I have no complaints with either, but the Stren seems better casting/handling. Its certainly worth a try.

I always thought the superbraids were awsome. never had a problem and i also have straigened hooks and brought big stuff from the bottom, so i thought i was safe. Nope, hooked into a muskie and of course somehow he manages to break my 50lb line in 2 different places. just my luck.

might have to switch to 80lb.
