bottom bouncers

Recommended Posts

I usually run mono in shallower water. Power Pro in deeper or when Im running threw weeds. I like the mono for the forgiveness it gives with the stretch but like the P.P. for the sensitivity. I can tell when I have weeds on my line better and it seems to cut threw weeds better than mono.

Most times the fish will hit the spinner and hook itself. I don't really think you have to bow to them at all. Just pick the rod out of the holder and continue up and reel. When sitting in the rod holder, I set my drag loose just like cranking so if they hit it and run they don't break off or pull hooks out. This is especially important if you're using fireline or any "no stretch" line. By the way, I use just regular bouncers with spinner rigs. I guess if I want to go real slow, I'll rig them just like a lindy rig.

I also use superbraided line so that I can feel if the spinner is still spinning and I can feel what type bottom, and if the bait is fouled.
