French Lake (Faribault)

I have put this post on several other threads on this site and not many people are responding to it - I am hoping to have better luck here.

Sometime in the next month I am going down to French Lake in Faribault for the first time with a buddy who has never fished for muskies. I was wondering if anyone had any helpful hints for us to hopefully have some success on a new lake.

Thanks a bunch!!

There is plenty of shallower humps and points in French. Most to all of them have weeds on them. Cast the edges of these and you should produce some follows/hits. Another thing about french is that it can get pretty dirty keep your eyes peeled behind the bait. It can be very difficult to see following fish. I usually try to figure eight every cast or every other cast just in case there is an unseen follower. French gets a lot of pressure for muskies, being that it is one of very few muskie lakes in the area. It isn't a bad idea to try different presentations in french. These fish see a lot of different baits and presententations. I have heard of guys doing good just trolling the open water basins with Bang-O-B's and Depthraiders.
