Pistol Pete
I've got a beckman net with a 52" treated teardrop style bag. It's had a lot of use and it's time to replace it. I'm thinking about putting a fin saver pen bag on. Does anybody use this style bag on their net? How do you like it? My concern also is that the bag is only 36 deep instead of 52. I like to leave the net with the fish in the water while I unhook or cut. Any info is much appreciated
Random guy
The Fin Saver really treats those fish nice. I use a shallow net it seems to work OK. The only trouble I can really see is if you have a taller boat or if it sits higher out of the water it may be tough to keep it deep enough. Another is leading in a fish it is nice to have a deeper bag to allow more room for those errors that seem to happen. I fish out of a Bass style boat so I am sitting at sea level anyways making a shallow net more then enough. A person fishing out off a deeper walleye boat my need to have a little more depth to keep the net deep enough while resting it on the gunwale.
